CHILD CARE REQUIREMENTS
Air Force Instruction 34-144 FCC Programs prohibits the use of privatized or base quarters for child care unless certified by the 633rd Mission Support Group Commander. Additionally, unauthorized childcare providers are not permitted to advertise in base publications or post advertisements on base bulletin boards. Certified FCC homes can be identified by the FCC logo displayed in the window or on the front door. For more information, contact the FCC office at 757-878- 5584.
HOW TO BECOME A FAMILY CHILD CARE PROVIDER
First, you must complete a simple application and attend an orientation class. Orientation classes are offered each quarter. Training in CPR, First Aid, child guidance, health and nutrition will be provided. Applicants must obtain liability insurance. Home inspections are performed by the base fire department, safety office, military public health and family child care office. The next stage is for the family child care panel to offer their recommendation to the Mission Support Group Commander for approval or disapproval for certification.
UNAUTHORIZED FAMILY CHILD CARE
Operating a Family Child Care Home is a privilege granted by the Mission Support Group Commander. All individuals providing childcare in their home for more than 10 hours per week must be certified. If you suspect someone of providing unauthorized Family Child Care home call 757-878- 5584 or E-mail Romona.firstname.lastname@example.org.
We encourage parent involvement in the program. There is a Parent Involvement/Advisory Board established to strengthen the partnership between home and the program. The Parent Involvement/Advisory Board meets at 1200 on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Madison Child Development Center, BLDG 926.
